Keunsoo Ha

Keunsoo Ha received the B.S. and M.S. degree in Electrical and Control Engineering from Hong-Ik University, Seoul, Korea in 1993 and 1995, respectively. He is currently a PhD student at Virginia Tech since 2002.

In 1995, he worked at Korea Electronics Technology Institute, in Precision Machinery Research Center, where he had been a senior researcher for two years and researched in developing BLDCM drives for household air-conditioners, refrigerator fans, step motor controllers for car dashboard and linear motor drivers for machine tools.

His research interests include electric motor drives, power electronics, and his principal research concerns the sensorless control of switched reluctance motor. He is the recipient of the third prize paper award and the first prize paper award from the Industrial Drives Committee of the IEEE Industrial Applications Society in 2005 and 2007 respectively.
